Reducing budgets for repair and maintenance make improving reliability even more challenging
You and your operations could be affected by:
- Being unable to maintain a consistent Condition-based Maintenance (CBM) program across your fleet.
- Being required to comply with costly inspection requirements enforced by classification societies.
- Existing CBM programs not delivering the desired results.
- Experiencing too many unplanned failures.
- High maintenance costs.
- Relying on time-based maintenance procedures, which can be inefficient.
- Having a reactive maintenance culture, which means that you are expected to be able to manage multiple systems with limited knowledge.
- New build or recently dry-docked vessels experiencing machinery or structural vibration or operational issues.
And many more!

FAQs
How often are Maritime CBM services required?
+
The frequency of Maritime CBM Services depends on several factors, including the type, operating environment and desired level of reliability of the asset. It is advised that CBM services should be performed on a regular basis; monthly, quarterly or annually depending on the criticality of the asset.
How we'll work with you
At BES Group we will use a multi stage approach to ensure success
- Scope – We will determine the asset list and requirements for the service through our initial consultation and vessel visits. We will then determine which services and solutions will address both your business goals and requirements.
- Implementation – Our Reliability Engineers will conduct a visit to install or set up the required equipment to be able to monitor your assets.
- Data Collection – Once your systems are set up, we will either collect data from your assets ourselves or enable you to do so.
- Data Interpretation – Either your maintenance personnel or a member of our Remote Diagnostics Team will analyse the data captured from your monitoring system. Detailed reports and recommendations will be provided through our Asset Insight 365 reporting platform.
The benefits of our Maritime CBM solutions
Asset management
CBM can help organisations to better manage their assets by providing data on their condition and performance. This information can be used to make informed decisions about asset replacement, maintenance, and repair.
Proof to insurance
Maritime companies that can demonstrate a reduction in unplanned downtime, repair and replacement costs, and improved asset reliability will have a lower overall risk for insurance companies to cover.
Reduce costs
CBM can help to reduce unplanned downtime by identifying potential problems before they cause a failure. This can save money by reducing the need for emergency repairs and the associated costs of being out of service.
Did you know...
15%
reduction in annual maintenance costs, according to Frost & Sullivan when companies use Maritime CBM Services.
20%
improvement in reliability of ships when using Maritime CBM services, according to DNV GL.
10%
reduction in the number of maritime accidents shown in a study by the International Maritime Organisation when CBM-based pricing was implemented.
