How BES Group can support you
Rope access
Rope access inspections are a safe and efficient way to inspect structures and facilities that are difficult or dangerous to reach by other means.
Our team of experienced engineers and technicians are trained to IRATA standards and have the skills and experience to inspect a wide range of structures, including:
- Towers: We can inspect towers of all heights, including communication towers, wind turbines, and chimneys.
- Bridges: We can inspect bridges of all types, including suspension bridges, arch bridges, and beam bridges.
- Buildings: We can inspect buildings of all sizes, including high-rise buildings, hospitals, and schools.
- Other structures: We can also inspect other structures, such as oil rigs, pipelines, and power lines.
At BES Group, our rope access inspections are conducted in a safe and professional manner, and only ever use the latest equipment and techniques to ensure that our inspections are thorough and accurate. We also have a team of experienced riggers who can safely and efficiently rig our equipment to reach any structure.
We have a comprehensive range of in-house equipment for rope access operations, including boat cover for work over water and breathing apparatus for shafts and other related facilities. We also have the capability to support these operations with our in-house diving and confined space teams.
Commercial diving
Commercial diving is a specialised field that requires extensive training and experience. Our commercial diving services are backed by our commitment to safety and quality. XEIAD, part of BES Group, are registered with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which means that we meet the highest standards of safety and quality. We also have a long history of providing reliable and efficient services to our clients.
At BES Group, we have a team of experienced and qualified divers who can provide a wide range of services, including:
- Inspection: We can inspect underwater structures and assets to assess their condition and identify any potential problems.
- Maintenance: We can perform maintenance on underwater structures and assets to keep them in good working order.
- Repair: We can repair underwater structures and assets that have been damaged.
- Emergency response: We can provide emergency response services for underwater incidents.
- We also offer a clerk of work service, which involves inspecting the workmanship, quality, and safety of work on any subsurface, coastal, or marine construction sites. As a clerk of work, we will conduct regular site inspections and check that building plans are being followed correctly.
Confined space
Confined space services are a way to keep workers safe when they need to go into enclosed spaces. These spaces are not designed for people to stay in for long periods of time, and they can be dangerous because they can contain harmful substances or not have enough oxygen.
At BES Group, we specialise in Confined Space inspection and survey, and we are fully compliant with the HSE “Confined Space Entry Regulations” 1997.
Our in-house team of engineers and divers has the expertise and experience to safely and efficiently inspect confined spaces of all types. We have a wide range of equipment, including 4×4 vehicles, trailers, pontoons, and launches, to provide access to even the most difficult-to-reach areas.
Our key areas of operation include:
- Engineer-led confined space access for inspection of structures and facilities
- Detailed forensic survey, inspection, investigation, and assessment
- Independent inspection, supervision, and management of works
- Independent professional audit and review of confined space operations
- Engineering support and advice in promoting remedial and new works requirements
- Emergency call-out response for infrastructure inspection
- Our technical and operational personnel are fully trained in confined space entry and operation. We have comprehensive company procedures in place to ensure the safety of our team and our clients.
Our diving capability provides support to complex confined space entry operations. We can provide detailed project planning, operation supervision, dedicated rescue personnel, and full breathing apparatus.
Offshore provisions
We provide waterborne support to numerous consultants and contractors to carry out inspections and maintenance works. We have a fleet of waterborne craft including hard and inflatable launches up to 6m in length, a 16m² segmental pontoon system and MCA coded inflatable launches for works where required. Fully maintained and serviced engines are available for use of all craft (including pontoon systems), as standard 25hp engines are fitted but dependent on conditions up to 40hp engines are available for use.
We provide the following services:
- Provision of a pontoon for use as a diving platform
- Provision of a pontoon with or without tower scaffold for minor remedial works
- Provision of a pontoon with tower scaffold for use as an inspection platform
- Provision of an inspection boat for low level inspections
- Provision of a safety boat for other ancillary works
- Depth sounding and GPS plotting from inspection boat
- Our personnel deployed with the waterborne craft are fully trained in boat handling (minimum requirement RYA Powerboat Level 2), tower scaffold erection (minimum PASMA or equivalent), first aid (minimum First Aid at Work) and VHF Marine Radio. Operational personnel undertaking planning and supervision are supported by comprehensive company procedures, review, audit and development.
Our engineers are available to advise on legal requirements for working on inshore and offshore waters and are also available to liaise and co-ordinate works with relevant agencies and authorities on behalf of customers.
Powered access
Powered access is a way to reach hard-to-get places using a variety of powered platforms, like scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and boom lifts. Our team are equipped to use powered access tools to inspect and maintain structures and facilities that are difficult or dangerous to reach by other means.
We have a team of experienced engineers and operators who can safely and efficiently use powered access equipment to reach even the most difficult-to-access areas.
Drones
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of inspection and maintenance tasks. Our team at BES Group can use drones to inspect structures and facilities that are difficult or dangerous to reach by other means. We can also use drones to collect data that can be used to plan and coordinate maintenance and repair work.
Here are some of the benefits of using drones for inspection and maintenance:
- They can access hard-to-reach areas that would be difficult or dangerous to reach by other means.
- They can provide a bird’s-eye view of the area being inspected, which can help to identify potential problems.
- They can collect data that can be used to create 3D models of the area being inspected, which can be used to plan and coordinate maintenance and repair work.
- They are relatively inexpensive to operate, making them a cost-effective option for inspection and maintenance.
