Upon successful completion of this Training Course, candidates will be able to create, implement, and manage a Lubrication programme with a good understanding of Lubrication best practices and specialised testing required for specific Lubricants.
Candidates will learn advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques, the contamination effects on machinery, the integration of Lubrication with other CBM technologies, and much more.
This course is based on the ISO 18436-4 certification program for Lubricant Analysis Category 2. The course runs over four days with an additional half day for review and optional MOBIUS or BINDT PCN certification exam.
Lubricant Analysis Category 2 course topics include:
- Maintenance Strategies
- Lubrication Theory and Fundamentals
- Lubricant contamination measurement and control
- Lubricant health monitoring
- Wear debris monitoring and analysis
- Report interpretation
- Oil sampling Procedures
Lubricant Analysis Category 2 course objectives:
- Understand the fundamental aspects of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
- Aspects of Condition-based maintenance (CBM).
- Effects of poor lubrication in machinery.

- Laboratory tests.
- Wear debris analysis techniques.
