Statutory Inspection
Our partnership with Belfast City Council
Project overview
In 2019 our relationship with Belfast City Council, Northern Ireland’s Largest City Council, got even stronger with the renewal of our ‘Long Term Agreement.’
With more than 160 locations spread across the city, the Council has over 4,000 individual items all needing thorough inspections to stay safe and compliant. The equipment spans the three inspection disciplines – machinery, electrical and pressure – and a bespoke approach is the most effective way to keep everything working just as it should.
The challenge
We’re experts when it comes to working with a large and varied customer base and we’ve been partnering with City Councils for many years.
Like most other councils, Belfast City Council’s locations include many schools, community and leisure centres and our industry leading approach to planning and reporting is exactly what’s needed to keep our customer and their people out of harm’s way.
The solution
We pride ourselves on working around the needs of our customers.
Avoiding disruption and making sure things continue to work smoothly is key for all City Councils. At Belfast City Council, this means making sure plant and equipment is always safe and fit for purpose even when this means some inspections need to be completed out of hours or at weekends, to meet their operational needs. Using our bespoke inspection booking system, we’re able to manage this effectively, providing a long-range schedule of inspections and examining equipment when best meets our customer’s needs.
The results
With a focus on safety at all times, the Belfast CC team are kept up to date using our detailed eReporting tool.
They keep an eye on location trends, making sure plant is always made available for inspection by our engineer surveyors and that any follow up actions are completed quickly. Our key account manager plays an important role in communicating with the council, broker and our team to make sure all aspects of the contract run as smoothly as possible.
