Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for landlords – residential and commercial properties
The EV Chargepoint Grant was created to replace the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) on the 1st of April 2022. It relates to funding for the purchase and installation of EV Chargepoints. With it, you can get up to £350 per socket and £500 per parking space with supporting infrastructure, or up to 75% off the cost to buy and install an EV charger, up to a limit of £15,000 per grant.
For those that own multiple properties, you can receive funding for up to 100 grants each financial year for commercial properties, and 200 for residential properties.
To be eligible for this grant, you must:
- Be a small to medium sized business (SME), with no more than 249 employees
- Be a UK registered company, charity, or public sector organisation
- Have a minimum of 5 clearly defined, off-street parking spaces

Infrastructure grant for residential car parks
This grant applies to those renting, leasing, or managing a multi-tenancy residential property. For this, charging infrastructure must be installed in at least 5 parking spaces, with a minimum of 1 active charger with cabling and chargepoint installed. The rest can have passive infrastructure, which just have the cabling for the chargepoint installed, but not the charge point itself.
For this, you can claim up to £30,000 or 75% off the installation cost. You can only claim one grant per building. This includes:
- Up to £500 per passive parking space
- Up to £300 per active parking space

Workplace charger scheme
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that supports eligible applicants with the purchase and installation costs of electric vehicle chargepoints.
This scheme is open to businesses, charities, and public sector organisations, and covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints, capped at a maximum of £350 per socket and 40 sockets across all sites per applicant.
To be eligible for the WCS, applicants must:
- Be a registered business, charity, or public sector organisation
- Have clearly marked off-street parking for staff/fleet use only
- Have their chargepoints installed by an OZEV approved installer – like the BES Group
- Apply for a digital voucher and present it to your chosen installer

Infrastructure grant for staff and fleets
For those with small and medium sized business with 249 employees or less, there’s the Infrastructure Grant for Staff and Fleet. This grant helps to support SMEs with the installation of infrastructure they need for chargepoints, both now and in the future.
This grant is capped at £15,000 per building and will supply up to £500 for passive and an addition £350 for active infrastructure per parking space. For this, you must install infrastructure for a minimum of 5 private off-street parking spaces, with at least one active chargepoint. These chargepoints must be for exclusively staff or fleet use.
