A Chain Block contains a lifting chain, a hand chain and a grabbing hook. Most chain blocks are operated using electricity, but manual chain blocks can be used too. First, the chain block needs to be connected to the load via the grabbing hook. Patient hoists Runway Tracks are used to support and guide patient Hoists. Tracks may be part of a complex system witch curves and direction of travel changing points.

Used in hospitals, nursing homes, schools and domestic premises, patient hoists may be fixed units attached to a designated bath or bed, mobile units which are effectively specially designed portable jib cranes which can be wheeled. A Concrete Boom Crane or Boom pump is a articulating arm (or boom) with an attached tube and pump used to place concrete accurately. Mainly used on larger construction projects as they are capable of pumping high volumes of concrete and reduces manual labour.

Mobile Self Erecting Tower cranes are a type of Mobile Cranes, can be trailer or lorry mounted.

This crane is mounted on crawler tracks. This crane is of fixed jib type with a provision for inserting the boom sections for increasing the boom length. This type of crane can use a Lattice / Fly Jib for increasing the outreach. Can have multiple winches.

A skilled operator is required  For some Crawler Jib Cranes, must have a rescue procedure in place that will need to be agreeable with the surveyor.  A known load/weight maybe required. A MEWP maybe required, depending on access and height.

Hydraulic excavators are used widely in the construction industry and are normally fitted with a bucket attachment. Machines use a diesel engine as a primary source of power whilst a hydraulic system controls movement of all the major functions

Crawler Excavator are mainly centre post machines slew 360 degrees and may be mounted on wheels or tracks. Loading shovels, are purpose-built machines used primarily, but not exclusively, in the construction industry. In the most part, this generic group consists of diesel engine tractor units mounted on wheels or tracks, each variation carries a normally permanently fixed attachment such as a dozer blade, loading shovel, etc

An operator will be required. A known weight/load will be required. Sufficient space to operate the vehicle

Modern machines utilise diesel hydraulic drive units. Whilst the average lifting capacity is about 50 tonnes, some mobile cranes are manufactured with a lifting capacity in excess of 1,000 tonnes.

Escalators found in large offices, shops Airports etc are basically a moving staircase used to transport people from one floor to another. Travellators are usually found in large shops Airports etc and are basically a moving floor used to quickly move people.

A service engineer will be required each time ( to remove steps)  The escalator or travellator will be out of use during the inspection.

A platform lift is used to raise goods (12 monthly examination) or less mobile people (6 monthly examination). Typically lift tables are used to raise loads through relatively small distances and or persons.

An aerial tramway, sky tram, cable car, ropeway or aerial tram is a type of aerial lift which uses one or two stationary ropes for support while a third moving rope provides propulsion. With this form of lift, the grip of an aerial tramway cabin is fixed onto the propulsion rope and cannot be decoupled from it during operations.
